Here are the full details regarding the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 results, including dates, expected cutoffs, and the ranking process.

1. Important Dates & Time

  • Revised Result Date: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will declare the results by February 16, 2026 (originally scheduled for Feb 12).
  • Expected Time: While not officially confirmed, results are typically uploaded in the evening (after 6:00 PM IST).
  • Final Answer Key: This is expected to be released either today or just a few hours before the result declaration.
  • Session 2 Dates: Registration is currently open; the exam is scheduled for April 1 to April 10, 2026.

2. Expected Cutoff (Qualifying for JEE Advanced)

Based on the difficulty level of the January shifts and previous trends, the following are the expected percentile cutoffs to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2026:

CategoryExpected Percentile Cutoff
General (UR)93.3 – 95.0
Gen-EWS80.0 – 82.0

3. Marks vs. Percentile (Estimated)

Because NTA uses a Normalization Process to account for different difficulty levels across shifts, raw marks vary.

  • 99.9+ Percentile: ~230+ Marks
  • 99 Percentile: ~170 – 190 Marks
  • 95 Percentile: ~120 – 140 Marks
  • 90 Percentile: ~95 – 110 Marks

4. Tie-Breaking Rules for 2026

If two or more candidates secure the same NTA Percentile, the rank is determined in this specific order:

  1. Higher NTA Score in Mathematics
  2. Higher NTA Score in Physics
  3. Higher NTA Score in Chemistry
  4. Lower Ratio of Incorrect to Correct Answers (Overall)
  5. Lower Ratio of Incorrect to Correct Answers (Subject-wise order: Maths > Physics > Chemistry)
  • Note: The Age Factor and Application Number have been removed from the tie-breaking criteria to ensure a strictly merit-based system.
