The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is conducting a massive recruitment drive under CEN 06/2025 for Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC).

1. Vacancy Details

A total of 8,868 vacancies were announced, divided between graduate and undergraduate roles:

  • **Graduate Level (CEN 06/2025): 5,810 Posts
    • Goods Train Manager: 3,416
    • Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist: 921
    • Senior Clerk cum Typist: 638
    • Station Master: 615
    • Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor: 161
    • Traffic Assistant: 59
  • Undergraduate Level (CEN 07/2025): 3,058 Posts
    • Commercial cum Ticket Clerk: 2,424
    • Accounts Clerk cum Typist: 394
    • Junior Clerk cum Typist: 163
    • Trains Clerk: 77

2. Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Graduate Posts: Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
    • Undergraduate Posts: 12th pass (+2 stage) or equivalent.
  • Age Limit (as of 01.01.2025):
    • Graduate: 18 to 33 years.
    • Undergraduate: 18 to 30 years.
    • (Note: A 3-year age relaxation was provided across categories as a one-time measure due to the pandemic).

3. Selection Process

The recruitment follows a multi-stage process:

  1. CBT-1 (Screening): Common for all posts. Marks are not added to the final merit.
  2. CBT-2 (Scoring): Post-wise exam. This stage determines the final merit.
  3. Skill Test:
    • Typing Skill Test: For Clerk/Typist roles.
    • Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT): Specifically for Station Master and Traffic Assistant.
  4. Document Verification (DV) & Medical Examination (ME).

4. Exam Pattern & Syllabus

Both CBT-1 and CBT-2 last 90 minutes with a negative marking of 1/3 mark for every wrong answer.

  • Mathematics: Number System, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio, Percentage, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Profit & Loss, Geometry, Trigonometry, etc.
  • General Awareness: Current Events, Games and Sports, Art and Culture of India, Indian Literature, Monuments and Places of India, General Science (Life Science), History of India, Polity and Governance, Environmental issues, etc.
  • Reasoning: Analogies, Number/Alphabetical Series, Coding-Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagrams, Data Sufficiency, Statement-Conclusion, Decision Making, etc.

5. Current Status (April 2026)

The CBT-1 answer key was released on April 6, 2026. Candidates have until April 12, 2026 (23:55 hrs) to view their response sheets and raise objections against any discrepancies.
